Erasmus Mundus Scholarships

In order to apply for the Erasmus+ Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJDM) scholarships, candidates must apply in the first round

PLEASE NOTE: The awarding of Erasmus Mundus scholarships is conditional on the outcome of the selection for the funding under the EMJM Erasmus Mundus Joint Master program that will be confirmed by the European Agency EACEA by June 2023

Please note, however, that those who do not qualify for Erasmus + Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) scholarships in the first call for application will automatically enter in the second ranking list for any other financial support scheduled for the second call for application if this interest has been indicated in the appropriate section of the Online Application Form.

WHICH STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE?

Students from  all over the world are eligible for an Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship provided that they fulfil the requirements stated here as well as the additional criteria pointed out in this page.

Before reading through this page, make sure you've read the distinction between Program and Partner countries and the 12-months rule) - that explains the different scholarship amounts awarded.

CALCULATION OF THE GRANT

EMJMD scholarships include the students' participation costs (including the tuition fees, full insurance coverage and any other mandatory costs related to the students' participation in the course), a contribution to student travel and installation cost and a subsistence allowance for the entire duration of the CLE Master’s program.

Contribution to participation costs  (paid to the Consortium):

With "participation costs" we mean any compulsory administrative/operational cost related to the participation of the student in the CLE program (e.g. library, laboratory, tuition fees, insurance costs, etc.):

€ 6.000 > per year per Partner Country candidates

€ 3.000 > per year per Program Country candidates

NOTE THAT:

  • Students whose citizenship is one of the Erasmus+ Program Countries count as Program Country students. Students with a Partner Country citizenship who are resident in a program country or have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months, over the last five years (calculated backwards as from the submission deadline defined by the Consortium of applying for the CLE) count as Program Country students.
  • Students with a double nationality (of a Partner and of a Programme Country) must specify the nationality under which they submit their scholarship application.

Contribution to the travel and installation costs (paid to the Student):

1.000 per year per scholarship holder resident of a Programme Country for travel costs;

2.000 per year for travel costs + 1.000 for installation costs for scholarship holder resident of a Partner Country whose location is situated at less than 4.000 KM from the EMJMD coordinating HEI

OR

3.000 per year for travel costs + 1.000 for installation costs for scholarship holder resident of a Partner Country whose location is situated at 4.000 KM or more from the EMJMD coordinating HEI.

NOTE THAT:

  • The CLE consortium will verify the place of residence of the candidate. At the application stage, candidates are required to provide a residence certificate (issued in accordance with the candidate's municipality normal registration rules) and/or a certificate from the candidate's place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question. Both documents must state the candidate’s residence at the very moment of the application.
  • A contribution to installation costs is offered only to students resident of a Partner Country (€ 1.000 per intake). It is an incentive to help covering the additional costs related to the issuing of visas, residence permits, etc. as well as the temporary accommodation needs upon arrival in the first hosting Consortium country and the subsequent mobility trajectories.

Contribution to subsistence costs  (paid to the Student):

€ 1.000 per month for the entire duration of the CLE study program (23 months)

NOTE THAT:
Contribution to subsistence costs are not given to:

  • scholarship holders for the EMJMD periods (study /research /placement /thesis preparation) spent in their country of residence;
  • to Partner Country scholarship holders for the EMJMD periods exceeding three months (indicatively the equivalent of 15 ECTS credits) spent in any Partner Country.

  • Students who have already obtained an EMJMD scholarship or are former Erasmus Mundus Master/Doctoral Course scholarship holders are not eligible for an additional scholarship under the EMJMD action.
